When it comes to exhausts for German cars, Remus Exhaust is well known amongst enthusiasts for good reason. As we’ve mentioned before, the factory Mk 7 VW Golf GTI exhaust is quiet enough for it to hang out with a librarian, which is really not becoming for the originator of the “hot hatch” category. That’s why this MK 7 VW Golf GTI came in to see Sr Mod Expert Alan Wei at ModAuto to have the car fitted with a Remus Sport Exhaust for VW Golf GTI.

The factory muffler section is quite large and has just two rather plain looking tips. With the Remus Exhaust for the Mk 7  GTI, it converts the car from dual single tips to a quad tip setup, and offers two different diffuser options specifically designed to accommodate the new quad tip configuration.

Check out this side by side comparison of the stock axle-back muffler section and the Remus Sport Exhaust. Not only does the Remus Exhaust offer a nearly 10hp gain and fantastic sound, but also offers a slight reduction in weight.

The Polished Black Tips really lend a whole different character to the Remus Exhaust for the Mk7 VW Golf GTI, and really dresses up the car, not to mention gives it a much more intimidating growl. Thanks for joining us, we hope you enjoyed the photos.
