The Mark VII VW Golf GTI is a potent little hot hatch, especially if you’ve got a Performance Package Golf Mk VII, good for an extra 10hp with fat oversized brakes, a factory limited slip and a host of other goodies that make the “Performance Package” one of those option boxes you really want to tick. The owner of this GTI has been a hot hatch enthusiast for years andSr Mod Expert Alan Wei just helped him give the GTI the look and sound it deserved.
The factory GTI Mk 7 Exhaust is a bit tame – it’s rather quiet and features a plain looking dual tip exhaust configuration. We’re going to change that.
We’re replacing the OEM dual tip exhaust with a Remus Axle-Back Quad Exhaust for Mk 7 VW Golf GTI, seen here with the factory system, to give the GTI a whole new look and sound.
The Remus Exhaust is lighter than the factory system and the quad tip configuration will look awesome. But with quad tips, you need a diffuser for quad tips to match – fortunately this kit comes complete with a new diffuser as well!
The Remus Exhaust diffuser features several fins to give the car a more aggressive look, and the quad carbon-fiber trimmed exhaust tips really give the car that “DTM” flair.
The finish on the tips is excellent.

After a test drive to ensure nothing “moved”, we took the car outside and snapped a few detailed photos.
With the car purring happily with the Remus Exhaust fitted, this GTI is looks how it should’ve come factory.
