The particular Genesis Coupe came into the shop a while back to get a fresh look with a bit of help from Mod Expert Sean. This 2012 Genesis Coupe Track was already sitting low on a set of KW Coilovers to get rid of the wheelgap and lower the center of gravity, and the Genesis Coupe Suspension had been sharpened with a set of Eibach Sway Bars, too. However, what it still lacked was a set of great wheels and tires to match the mods the car already had, and Sean made just that happen.
This GenCoupe rolled in sporting some other bolt ons as well, such as this Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust for Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and from this angle the bright red Eibach Sway Bars are clearly visible, and the eagle-eyed might be able to spot the shock bodies of the KW Coilovers too. The sway bars come complete with new urethane bushings and mounts to ensure they’re able to deliver the sharp handling performance they’re engineered for.
The KW Coilovers are a perfect compliment to the massive Brembo brakes the car’s already equipped with, meaning that the overall package should make this Genesis Coupe perform as good as it looks.
This Genesis Coupe wanted a distinct wheel that they could count on to perform on the track. The lightweight construction of the Forgestar F14 offers a significant bit of weight savings over the average stock wheel (though I can’t say we’re sure what OEM is for the Track models) and the wider setup allows for the beefier tires the car calls for. Sean set up this GenCoupe with a 19×9 / 19×10 staggered fitment, with Bridgestone RE-11 tires to match.
The Bridgestone RE-11s are a beefy 245/35-19 up front and 285/35-19 at the rear for a whole lot of rubber gripping the road.
The F14’s Semi-Gloss Gunmetal powdercoat suits the GenCoupe well and the side profile looks great with the KWs set with only as much wheelgap as is necessary to drive around the bumpy streets of SoCal.
The oversized round tips of the Magnaflow Exhaust compliment the car’s rear view quite well, too.
Here’s the front view.
The 19×9 / 19×10 fitment fills out the wheel arches perfectly without looking sunk in, giving the car a meaner look and a wider stance. Thanks to this GenCoupe owner for letting us share the photos of his build, we hope you’ve enjoyed them.
