Gray BMW E90 328i Springs Shock Modification

The other day Leslie V brought her LCI BMW E90 328i into the shop to give the car a bit of a freshening. Like most E90s, Leslie’s 328i is getting up there in age, so the suspension was due for replacement anyway – so what better time to do a complete overhaul of the suspension?
Of course, leaving the car looking stock wasn’t an option either… so Leslie got in touch with Mod Expert Elliott – who set this 328i on a path to give the car an entirely new character.

Like we said, with higher mileage, the E90 Suspension is worn out after 50,000 miles anyways – which means if you install JUST lowering springs with blown out OEM shocks, your E90’s going to ride like crap. That’s why Elliott’s suggestion for Leslie’s E90 is such a great idea – a Koni FSD Shock + Eibach Spring Combo Package for BMW E90.

Since it replaces BOTH the shocks and the springs, it completely freshens the suspension of the car, and because it’s been designed to work together, the pairing of the FSD Shocks with the Eibach springs works better than Springs with OEM shocks, offering better handling and superior ride quality to a car on Eibach Springs still running the OEM shocks.

Leslie’s E90 already sported the BMW Performance Exhaust for 328i [E90] which offers a nice mild increase in sound for a sportier character and a few extra ponies at the rear wheels.Gray BMW E90 328i Exhaust Gray BMW E90 328i Under-body Exhaust

Despite having been on the car for some time, the system still was in outstanding condition- and from this angle you can see both the Koni FSD shocks and the Eibach Springs installed and mounted in the rear suspension.

Of course, while we were freshening the suspension, why stop there? A few simple cosmetic modifications also lend to a sportier look. One of the easy ones is a set of Carbon Fiber Kidney Grilles for BMW E90, which are both easy to install but also clean up the aesthetics of the car by omitting the OEM bright-trimmed kidneys.

The piece d’resistance though, was a set of VMR Wheels V718 Matte Black Wheels for BMW E90, Elliott specd Leslie’s E90 out at 18×8.5 ET35 / 18×9.5 ET45, wrapped in a fresh set of Continental Extreme Contact performance tires.

At the end of the day, Leslie’s E90 was a totally different car than it was when it rolled in that morning, thanks to a little guidance from Elliott and a host of quality parts. Special thanks to Leslie for letting us share her setup and for choosing ModAuto for installation.
