Sean R and his son have put quite a bit of work into transforming their stock Race Red Fiesta ST into a rallycross ready street car with a bit of help from the Mod Experts for a while now, and recently they came back to get one of the first heavy duty cooling mods for the Fiesta ST from Mishimoto installed along with a few other choice goodies thanks to the Mod Experts and the ModAuto team.
Last time, we fitted the car with the full Cobb Stage II package for Fiesta ST and a Rally Innovations Light Plate for Fiesta ST, but since then the car’s had a few more changes.
The Rally Innovations Light Bar Mount for Fiesta ST has since been fitted with additional high-output Baja Designs LED Lights.
To help with its hard life of rallycross duty, the car’s being outfitted with a Mishimoto Oil Cooler for Fiesta ST to help keep the motor running cool and happy.
Here’s the factory sandwich plate that feeds the turbocharger oil lines.
And here’s our swanky new part from Mishimoto.
Master Tech Dave removes the OEM sandwich plate from the motor.
And here it is off the car.
Check out the empty space left behind.
And here’s our shiny new Mishimoto part mounted into place.
The braided stainless lines and high quality fittings mean that you can trust this system will stand up to the hard life Sean and LAPD Racing plan to subject it to.
Next came mounting the oil cooler itself. The Mishimoto Oil cooler comes complete with its own bracketry, making it a direct bolt in install.
Take a closer look at the brackets. Then it was time to route the oil lines.
Here’s how the cooler looks installed before we mount the bumper.
To help enhance things further, we also installed a set of StopTech Braided Stainless Brake Lines for Fiesta ST.
From this angle, we get another look at the MBRP Exhaust for Fiesta ST we installed last time and the Eibach Rear Sway Bar for Fiesta ST.
As we promised last time, we also fitted a Turbosmart Kompact Shortie BOV for Fiesta ST and Turbosmart IWG-75 Wastegate for Fiesta ST to ensure the car performs to the fullest of its potential – makeing consistent boost and HOLDING it.
With the front end reinstalled, the Mishimoto Oil Cooler is nearly invisible.
With the latest round of goodies installed, this Fiesta ST is more of a little monster with every visit – we can’t wait to see what’s next. We hope you enjoyed the photos!
