In the USA, Wagons don’t exactly get a fair shake – the American station wagon died off in the 1980s with the advent of the Minivan, but across the Atlantic, the Europeans have been making fantastic longroof cars for decades. Audi’s design game is strong with their line of estate cars, and the B8 Audi A4 Avant is rather sharp looking. The trouble is, the factory ride height and wheels make this sleek 5-door as frumpy as the Lingerie section of Drapers and Damons. Chris C owns this A4 Avant, and brought his wagon in to see Mod Expert Sean to address the boring stock wheels for B8 Audi A4 and to lower the B8 Audi A4 suspension to eliminate the excess wheelgap.

Mod Expert Sean helped order just the thing to spice up the Avant – a set of lightweight Neuspeed RSe102 Satin Gun Metallic wheels for Audi. Spec’d out in an Audi-specific 20×9 ET40 fitment, these lightweight flow form wheels weigh just 21.7lbs each – not bad for a 20in wheel!

The 10-spoke design looks great against the bodylines of the B8 A4. Of course, your wheels are only as good as the tires you mount on them, so Mod Expert Sean recommended a set of sticky Toyo T1R 255/30-20 tires to keep the power going to the ground.
