Scion FR-S GReddy High Performance Intake: Installed Photos

Last Friday, ModBargains this Toyobaru came by to have a Scion FR-S GReddy High Performance Intake installed. This intake is the same one as the Takeda Cold Air Intake System for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ we already offer, but is branded as GReddy. Kind of like how one GT86 is branded a Subaru, one’s a Scion and another one’s a Toyota, even though all three are basically the same car.

Aftermarket intakes have come a long way and are becoming more sophisticated every year. Unlike the “cold air intakes” of just a decade ago, this intake isn’t some obvious bit of polished aluminum, no, the Greddy intake is designed to work with the needs of the factory intake setup and so blends right in, looking like it belongs under the hood. These attributes make this particular intake an attractive option for conservative and aggressive car-builders alike.

GReddy is a world renowned performance company that was founded by a bunch of racers and car enthusiasts with goal of bringing high quality performance products to the automotive industry, and they’ve done exactly that. The company has been building all manner of performance parts for years and have earned a much-deserved reputation for quality and an excellent product.

If you haven’t noticed already, there’s an aFe coupler attached to the air box, and you may wonder why that is on a GReddy product. This is because aFe/Takeda has partnered up with GReddy to help them penetrate into the performance intake industry.
