Friend of Mod Expert Sean, David Z, has been something of a regular here at the ModAuto shop recently – today’s visit we’re fitting a set of new wheels for BMW E90 to give David’s 328i some much needed visual interest to give the E90’s exterior a look to match its potential.
Making the most of the Dynamic Intake Scoops is a BMW Power Box Tuner, increasing output another 8hp / 8tq as well as raising the rev limit and enhancing throttle response to make the car a hell of a lot more fun to drive.
Check out the Dyno graph for the BMS Power Box for E90 BMW 328i, giving you a better idea of how big the change in performance is across the entire rev band.
To give the E90 328i Exhaust a bit more growl and a more aggressive exhaust note, we’ve fitted a BMW Performance Exhaust for BMW E90 328i, which adds a bit of power in addition to better looking exhaust tips and sound.
To eliminate the excess wheelgap, you need to lower the BMW E90 Suspension. To achieve the drop we were after, Sean recommended David go with a set of BC Racing Coilovers for BMW E90 3-Series to replace the worn-out factory shocks, springs and struts. The coilovers lower the car and the performance dampers enhance handling performance even further.
After lowering the E90 with the BC Coilovers, a new set of wheels as very much needed. Sean recommended a set of Sportline 8S Gunmetal 19in wheels, spec’d out in a 19×8.5 / 19×10 fitment, wrapped with 235/35-19 / 255/30-19 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 Tires to keep the 328i firmly planted on the ground.
The overall effect of lowering the car and a set of wheels with a few other bolt ons makes this a E90 a lot faster than its stock counterparts and a hell of a lot better looking, with much sexier wheels and a whole lot less of that nasty unappetizing wheelgap.
We love the way that David’s 328i came out – a great example of a conservative OEM++ car with more of an emphasis on subtlety than some other 328i’s that have come through. Thanks to David for choosing ModAuto for his E90, we hope you enjoyed the photos as much as we did.
