We’ve been working on quite a few Dodge Challengers (LC) lately – this 14 R/T is simply the latest. The problem with the suspension of the R/T suspension is that it sits incredibly high, even with the Mopar performance springs installed.
To give the Challenger Suspension the lower ride height it so desperately needed to eliminate the wheelgap and sharpen its handling, Mod Expert Sean has set this car up with a set of BC Racing BR Coilovers for LC Dodge Challenger.
The BC Racing coilovers are 30 way adjustable, making them a great option for enthusiasts that want finer control over their suspension.
Here’s how the BC Coilovers appeared installed into the front suspension.
This closeup of the rear suspension should give you a good idea of how the BC Racing Adjustable Shock and Adjustable Spring Perch in the rear all goes together.
Sr Tech Dave tightens everything down under the hood and in the trunk, where the shock towers are.
Here’s how the car looks sitting low on the BC’s. The excessive wheelgap is gone, and as a result the car looks much better on its Mopar wheels.
After lowering any car, an alignment is a great idea. Typically you want to wait a few days, but for lack of time and this owner’s availability, we dialed in the alignment right after installing the coilovers. Our alignment rack sits perfectly flush with the floor, so even the lowest cars can get on the rack with ease.
We charge just $129 for a 4-wheel alignment as of press time, which is about what you’d pay your average consumer alignment shop that will complain and give you a hard time about a lowered car, and some shops won’t even touch a lowered car. You’ll find none of that hassle here.
Sitting low on the BC Coilovers, this LC Challenger looks worlds better on those black Mopar wheels and just goes to show how much a bit of drop can improve a car.
