It sometimes seems like the people that drive Corvettes are often old bald guys just “out for a cruise”, and while that’s good for them, that’s not exactly cool or how the car was meant to be driven. Such is not the case of this Jet Black Corvette Z06 [C6] – this car is driven hard and fast. Owned by one of our newest Mod Experts, Marisa Clark, this C6 Z06 regularly sees speeds well into the triple digits, and with a proper 6-speed manual, it’s one of the cooler C6es we’ve seen.
Originally a Camaro owner, Marisa decided to move onto Corvettes after getting out of the Camaro.

Since buying it, the C6, dubbed Vanessa, has been flogged thoroughly on the Targa Trophy rally and at ShiftS3ctor Airstrip Attack top-speed events all over. Rolling on Forgestar wheels, the C6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 looks especially menacing.
You could also say Marisa has a thing for Forgestar Wheels. While the car has previously been on the set of Forgestar CF10s you see above today the car sits on a set of 5-spoke CF5’s. The fatter 5-spoke of the Forgestar CF5 wheels is a natural compliment to the Vette’s bodylines.

Up front, the car sports a KaTech Carbon Fiber Splitter that gives it a bit more character than your average Vette, as well as some much needed aero at those Airstrip Attack events.
Marisa joined the team recently after attending our ModNights meet to unveil STAYCRUSHING V2.0.
Under the hood, the LS7 has some issues with the factory heads – bad valve guides and other valvetrain issues mean LS7s tend to lead short lives in factory form, and so the original motor went the way of the Dodo.
The original LS7 has been replaced with another crate-fresh LS7, now sporting Milled Heads and new valve guides and springs, actuated by a Cunningham Motorsports Stage 4 Camshaft with a custom grind cam by Cam Motion. Induction comes via a Haltech Intake which dumps into a MSD Intake manifold through a Nick Williams 102mm Throttle Body.
The sound is made even more incredible thanks to a set of American Racing Catless Headers for Corvette Z06, paired with a set of CORSA Exhaust mufflers.

Good for 585whp on tap and a blistering 510wtq, the Z06 makes more power at the wheels than it was originally rated for at the crank.

At her most recent ShiftS3ctor Air Strip Attack, Marisa’s Corvette Z06 achieved a top speed of over 160mph over the length of the strip – not bad at all for a Naturally Aspirated LS7.

160mph makes for some interesting patterns in the dirt. You can almost see the speed lines.

At the rear, the Corsa Exhaust Mufflers look great, and paired with the rear lip spoiler by C7 Carbon, the rear profile is just as intimidating as the front end.
