Kent B’s been bringing his Scion FR-S to ModAuto for a while now, and finally it’s time for the big boy stuff – we’re installing the Vortech V-3 H67B Supercharger to give the FA20 under the hood a lot more oomph. When it comes to Vortech-fed FA20’s, there’s noone who knows them better than Mod Expert Robert Kochis, better known as the owner of the famous/infamous @STAYCRUSHING widebody Scion FR-S.

The car already rode on a set of Eibach Sportline Springs for Scion FR-S that brought down the ride height, and the Gunmetal/Machined Face Avant Garde M310 wheels give the car a lot of character, but now was the time for moar powahhh.

The Injen Intake had to be removed, instead the Vortech V3 H67B Air-to-Air Intercooled supercharger kit replaces it with its own unique airbox and intake. The ECU has been reconfigured for boost via ECUTEK tuner.

The Vortech Supercharger kit comes complete with an intercooler that makes it plain who is forcefeeding your FA20 with its stealth black finish and Vortech stencil. Even naked the Winjet Projector Headlights still look great.

Scion_FR-S_Vortech_Supercharged_AG_M359 (16) At the tail of the car, while you can see the smoked Valenti LED Tail Lights and Valenti LED 3rd Brake Light, it’s the ARK DT-S Cat-Back Exhaust for Scion FR-S Subaru BRZ – paired with an Invidia Overpipe and Invidia Frontpipe for FR-S/BRZ, fed from a Borla UEL Header for Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ, this FA20 has that signature boxer rumble and turbo growl we fell in love with in the first WRXes.

With the Vortech kit installed, Mod Expert Robert reckons the car is good for around 270-280WHP and perhaps more importantly, the Vortech supercharger is SMOG LEGAL, meaning this car can pass Cali emissions.

That night, Kent’s FR-S was the perfect contrast to STAYCRUSHING at our ModNights meet March 30th. Thanks to Ken for choosing us as his shop of choice for mods.
