A few weeks back we held our ModBargains x fifteen52 meet here at ModAuto, and friend of the shop Dan S from over at mountune brought over a couple of the shop cars from over at mountune for the event. This 2015 Ford Focus ST built by mountune showcases their current offerings, not to mention how great a set of fifteen52 wheels can look on a Focus ST. While there are many ways to mod a Focus ST – check out our guide to the Best Mods for Focus ST here – this car showcases a great way to build one.
The car also shows off the mountune MP275 package for Focus ST – which boosts output, as the name suggests, to 275 horsepower, up from 252.
With optional mountune lettering, the Tube Fin core mountune Intercooler for Focus ST offers a lightweight front mount intercooler and a significant improvement in core volume, coupled with the benefit of a tube fin core, which offers superior thermal transfer compared to a heavy bar plate type intercooler.
The optional yellow stencil works beautifully with the mountune Lower Sport Spoiler for Focus ST, an accessory rarely seen here in the USA.
The difference here between MP275 and say, your average Stage 2 package, is that this horsepower increase is fully Ford-warranty approved to not void your Ford powertrain warranty, great for peace of mind – and it’s CARB legal too – meaning SMOG legal here in California. That means that this package, while the gains are a bit conservative, are totally legal both emissions wise and in terms of warranty compliance. (Check out that Ford Warranty here)
The wheels and tires are also something to show off as well – a set of wheels and a drop makes this ST look better than your average car thanks to lowering springs and a set of fifteen52 wheels. Sometimes written as 1552, fifteen52 offers a range of wheels for Fords in 5x108mm fitments for Focus ST wheels like the classic Tarmac and Ken Block-derived Turbomac, available in Speed Silver or Rally White in your choice of custom powdercoat colors.
Giving the car some bark to match its performance bite is a mountune Exhaust for Focus ST. The mountune system is a great choice for anyone looking for a bit more growl and authority but without giving yourself a headache – an ideal option for a mature driver looking for something for the daily.
The mountune exhaust for Focus ST converts the single massive hexagonal tip with a set of dual polished tips with laser-etched #m logos for a nice touch.
From this angle you can see that the tips protrude just enough so that the logos on the tips are visible, filling out the opening in the rear valance beautifully.
Under the hood, the mountune High Flow Intake for Focus ST not only enhances performance but also greatly sexes up the Focus ST’s otherwise sterile looking engine bay.
The mountune Low Restriction Intake for Focus ST adds horsepower but more importantly, you get sharper throttle response and you can actually hear your turbocharger working its magic without the hassle of that stupid sound symposer.
With the car sitting low on mountune Springs, the stance is perfect on the fifteen52 Tarmac wheels.
The interior boasted the full mountune monty as well, including a mountune Shift Knob for Focus ST paired with a mountune shifter boot.
The mountune Shift Knob is more ergonomic than the factory knob and feels great in your hand, and the mountune logo etched on the side is a great touch.
All told, this car both shows off mountune’s full parts catalog for the ST and also offers a group of upgrades that translates into a great to drive tuner hatch at the end of the day. Thanks to Dan for bringing in the mountune Focus ST, we hope you enjoyed the photos!
