The Dodge Challenger R/T is a great take on the classic E-Body Challenger, but the trouble is, they’ve made the car quiet, thinking people want a bloody musclecar to be Buick-quiet. That’s a problem, and a crying shame. That’s what brought in this Challenger R/T to see the Mod Experts about fitting an exhaust for the Challenger.
Out goes the bulky, quiet factory exhaust!
The owner of this Challenger wanted something on the louder side, so the Borla Atak Exhaust for Dodge Challenger R/T was just the ticket.
And in goes the Borla Atak system. Borla Exhausts for the Challenger R/T can be had in three different sound levels, from quietest to loudest, they’re Touring, S-Type and ATAK. The ATAK is as aggressive as the name would lead you to believe, growling and barking with every blip of the throttle. An angry snarl that you expect of a musclecar.
The Borla Exhaust for the Challenger replaces the two large rectangular tips with a set of quad rectangular tips that look great and fill out the openings beautifully, offering a different look than stock that’s still a great ‘fit’ with the car’s styling. Our Senior Tech Dave can be seen here with the customer adjusting the tips exactly to the customer’s preference – it’s that kind of attention to detail that Dave is known for.
From this angle you can see the full length of the exhaust system, replacing the majority of the exhaust system in the process.
Here’s how everything looks on the ground.
The quad rectangle tips fit great with the 15-16 Challenger’s styling and larger rectangular tails.
From this angle you can see exactly how far the tips protrude, and in this case they’re almost flush with the rear bumper for a really clean look.
With some bark to match its Hemi V8 bite, this LC Challenger now garners the authority that turns heads and says “yeah it’s got a Hemi, what’re you gonna do about it?”, turning it from a luxury grand tourer into the Musclecar it’s supposed to be.
